Yard Trimmings

• Yard Trimmings in Elmwood Park are collected each Monday.

• Yard Trimmings include the pickup of grass clippings, loose and/or bagged leaves, and branches less than 6 feet in length.

• The City composts its Yard Trimmings to reduce landfill waste. Once the compost is broken down, it is a valuable gardening material, and is available to citizens at 127 Humane Lane, just opposite from the Animal Shelter.

Composting

• If you would like to compost your own organic waste at home, the City is selling backyard compost bins for $35. Please contact Solid Waste at 803.545.3800 for further information.

Trash

• Trash in Elmwood Park is collected each Tuesday.

• Place your cart at the curb by 7:30 AM each Tuesday.

• Place the cart with the handle towards your home

• Leave at least 3 feet between other roll carts, trees, vehicles and mailboxes.

• Remove your cart from the curb by 7:30 each Tuesday evening.

Recycling

• Recyclables in Elmwood Park are collected on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

• Place all recyclables loose in the cart.

• Place the cart with the handle towards your home

• Leave at least 3 feet between other roll carts, trees, vehicles and mailboxes.

• Remove your cart from the curb by 7:30 each Tuesday evening.
