Yard Trimmings
Yard Trimmings in Elmwood Park are collected each Monday.
Yard Trimmings include the pickup of grass clippings, loose and/or bagged leaves, and branches less than 6 feet in length.
The City composts its Yard Trimmings to reduce landfill waste. Once the compost is broken down, it is a valuable gardening material, and is available to citizens at 127 Humane Lane, just opposite from the Animal Shelter.
Composting
If you would like to compost your own organic waste at home, the City is selling backyard compost bins for $35. Please contact Solid Waste at 803.545.3800 for further information.
